About Me
What's my story?
Engaging in a talking therapy is brave so you need to be able to trust the person you are working
with. So, here's my story and if you like what you read, get in touch for a no obligation free 20

After working in secondary education for over 20 years I thought I had learned to manage my stress and support those around me, but Covid changed everything. The rapid growth of stress and anxiety I noticed in both children, their parents and the teachers I was working with, started me on a journey to investigate what could be done to support people before things became unmanageable.
In my role as a senior leader, I was already using a number of cognitive behavioural therapy and mindfulness techniques to support those I was working with. However, I wanted to understand how these could be used in conjunction with other techniques to be even more effective and long lasting.
I discovered hypnotherapy by chance. After reading a fiction book, I started to wonder if it could really work or whether it was just the work of fiction or TV gimmicks. For me to be convinced, I always look for academic evidence so I embarked on a mission to see what research was out there. I was surprised to see how much research had been published in psychological journals and how hypnotherapy and CBT was being used by medical bodies such as the NHS.
So, I started to look for a course that would would be academically rigorous and yet practical. I knew I wanted a course that would combine CBT and hypnotherapy - which is exactly what I found in the UK College of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy. I signed up for a trial course and within the first day, I was overwhelmed with how effective hypnotherapy appeared to be. The structure of my diploma course meant that the hypnotherapy I was learning about was also practised on me. This showed me how to focus and control my thoughts, feelings and behaviours; how to use breathing techniques to relax; how to use my imagination and visualisation to manage stress and develop skills to sleep better!
Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy started to change everything for me; the way I thought, felt and behaved at work and at home. As I continue to teach in secondary school, I am able to manage the stresses and strains in the classroom and in meetings much more effectively. I just wish I had these skills earlier!
Very quickly, people began to comment that I appeared different and more relaxed. I felt more relaxed, but I also felt more energised and focused.
So, New Future Me was born.
Specialising in anxiety, stress and fears, I use cognitive behavioural therapy alongside hypnotherapy to help clients work towards their new future. I have experience working with general anxiety, health anxiety, parental stress and fears/phobias.
All sessions are tailored to the needs of the client. My job is to listen and support with practical and workable techniques which can quickly change the way people think, feel and behave.
